Occlusal splint

Occlusal splint is a specially constructed splint which is used as initial therapy for
treating temporomandibular disorder (TMD).
It is recommended for the patients who clench their teeth or have bruxism (mostly at
night), which comes as a reaction to the stress that has accumulated during the day.
Occlusal splint is an efficient and instant treatment of unpleasant symptoms:

• Morning stiffness and tired jaw
• Inexplicable pain in the neck
• Unexplained headaches
• Earache
• Clicking and pain in temporomandibular joint
• Tooth abrasion (tooth wear)

The functionality of the splint is based upon appropriate adjustment of mandibula
which eliminates the pressure in the joint and automatically relaxes painful muscles
in both the neck and the head. In order to relieve all the symptoms you might need
to consult a specialist.
